Sandra talks with Lynette Kosar about how she grew her group by over 900 members in three months! Learn more about Lynette and her mosaic crochet patterns by joining her group Lavender Cup Cottage.
“When I woke up in the morning, I had like 20 or 25 requests to my group. So it was always exciting. That was the first thing I did, I looked at my phone as soon as I woke up to see how many people I had to let in.” -Lynette Kosar
I love to highlight people who are doing amazing things in their group, and in this episode I sat down with Lynette Kosar, who’s using her Facebook group to promote her awesome mosaic crochet patterns.
Lynette’s free group is called Lavender Cup Cottage. She started about a year ago, and in the beginning it seemed like she was the only one talking in the community. It was a challenge to get anyone to engage.
In March, she took my mini-challenge, and her group grew from 260 members to over a thousand in just three months! Her community blossomed and her engagement grew, even when she wasn’t constantly there in the group. She didn’t even invest in Facebook ads…this growth was all organic!
Lynette said that when she first started her group, almost all of her posts were sales posts about when a new crochet pattern was available to purchase. Then she began to join other knitting and crocheting groups and helped to answer questions, and even created tutorials in her Facebook group that she could link to. This was a great strategy that led a lot of people to her group.
Lynette also put a poll in her group and asked members to choose what they wanted to learn from her the most. It was a success, and now she tries to do this monthly.
Using my courses Lynette was able to learn these strategies and others to increase the growth and engagement of her group.
I’ve loved watching Lynette’s progress and can’t wait to see what she does in her group next! You can find her groups by searching Lavender Cottage and Lavender Cup Cottage Mosaic Crochet Group. You can also find her awesome crochet patterns on Ravelry.
