“In the entrepreneurial hustle, we often equate productivity with worth. But what if by constantly striving and pushing, we’re simply marching ourselves into burnout? This week, we’re exploring the shift from doing more to doing things differently, embracing balance for true business vitality.”

We just wrapped up a truly enlightening episode with the incredible Kerry Magnus, and I couldn’t be more excited to share this with our community. Kerry joined me to explore something many of us face but don’t always recognize: burnout. Specifically, she dove into what it really means to experience burnout and how we can support ourselves to avoid it.

Kerry, who’s a holistic psychologist and body talk practitioner, shared her deeply personal journey. She was once where many of us find ourselves — exhausted and overwhelmed — and discovered it was more than just physical burnout. Through her journey, she learned that our bodies can communicate that something needs to change, and she now helps women embrace their purpose without compromising their well-being.

One of the eye-openers of this episode was Kerry’s concept of the ‘holding personality,’ where many high achievers like us try to keep all the balls in the air, set high expectations, and manage every piece of our lives meticulously. It was fascinating to hear how this personality type lends itself to burnout if we’re not careful.

What really hit home for me was how Kerry connected the dots between our creative energy and our well-being. When she began practicing stillness and tuning into her own body’s needs, ideas and clarity started flowing. This shift in focus from doing more to doing differently can actually lead to more fruitful results.

We also uncovered that sometimes, the biggest insights and moments of creative genius happen when we least expect them like while on vacation or right after giving yourself a mini-break. It’s these little pauses and shifts in perspective that can truly revitalize us and our businesses.

Kerry also touched on the power of journaling and other morning practices to cultivate feminine energy and access creativity. It reminded me how crucial it is to make space for these practices, even on the busiest days. They can serve as our grounding force and ward off burnout.

So, if you’re finding yourself overwhelmed with running your membership or simply longing for more balance, I urge you to incorporate some of Kerry’s strategies. She’s truly reshaped the way I look at productivity and wellness.
